Originally founded in 1966 as the Oneonta Red Sox, and becoming the Oneonta Yankees in 1967, the Oneonta team in the New York-Penn League became known as the Oneonta Tigers when they joined the Detroit Tigers organization in 1999. The O-Tigers play their home games at Damaschke Field in Oneonta, New York, the only dry ballpark in professional baseball.
